Announcing Healthful: AI-Assisted, concierge-level navigation for patients — and Inflect Health’s first spinoff startup!

I’m thrilled to announce the launch of Healthful, a new startup with a compelling approach to enhancing patient care. Two national health system providers have already signed on as Healthful customers, and we’re confident that many more will quickly follow.

Healthful is the first startup to spin out of Inflect Health, Vituity’s innovation hub, drawing upon the wisdom and direct experience of our 5,000 clinicians at 400 practice locations. As health practitioners ourselves, we know first-hand that patients face multiple variables and barriers that impact their care journey. These challenges are often compounded by economic and social barriers that traditional hospitalization practices may not even notice.

This is why Healthful’s approach to care navigation with personalized, tech-enabled support truly impresses us. It’s among the first to leverage machine learning to help team members identify the patients most likely to benefit from navigation. While care plans are strategically curated to benefit each patient’s individual health journey, artificial intelligence is amazingly effective at processing copious amounts of patient data. This then allows Healthful navigators to refocus their efforts on successful and timely execution of the care plan for each and every patient.

Healthful has already demonstrated substantial ROI for avoidable emergency department revisits. In one pilot in particular, the return was as high as 9x the initial investment in the program over one year. Similar pilots navigating substance use disorder and post-acute patients have also achieved remarkable results. But more importantly, patients receive far superior care, healthcare providers and insurers see lower costs due to appropriate resource utilization, and health systems manage their patient populations more effectively.
