We’re thrilled to let you take a deeper look at our portfolio of companies — an eclectic, inclusive mix of health-tech startups at the vanguard of disruptive innovation.

Decoded Health

Efficiency, without sacrificing effectiveness or empathy, is paramount to maintaining quick, accessible care that triages and treats, proactively screens and promotes wellness. Decoded Health is developing the world’s first Clinical Hyperautomation Platform, leveraging explainable machine learning with Human-In-the-Loop Task Autonomy to automate patient conversations and augment the physician’s clinical workflow.

Succinctly, their aim is to 10x the supply of quality healthcare via automated conversations with real physicians, instead of a “chat-bot” experience. The platform automates clinical tasks, enabling physicians to manage a panel size of over 8,000 patients, while improving population health and deepening the physician-patient relationship.

In the age of telehealth, providers can gain access to data before they need it — determine patient history, medications, and clinically informed differential diagnostic questions — seamlessly and empathetically.

Alertive

Chronic disease and hypertension are skyrocketing in the US, and digital access to care remains a must to treat and monitor patient progress. Alertive aims to solve this by making digital access easier to implement in physician practices.

This remote patient monitoring program is fully turnkey, cutting costs without sacrificing the quality of care. In fact, their technology has the capacity to lower the risk of heart attack and stroke by 50%. Patients enroll, the platform sends intelligent alerts to providers, and patients — as a result — receive faster, safer care. Remote patient monitoring already in-market is roundly well received by both patients and physicians alike, and the results speak for themselves.

GEn1E Lifesciences

Wouldn’t we all wish to better treat and cure inflammatory and age-related diseases, like rheumatoid arthritis, COPD and autoimmune conditions? GEn1E aims to grant that wish, with a biotechnology powerhouse dedicated to doing just that.

GEn1E aims to optimize selectively screened programs with developmental and commercial attractiveness for rapid assessment of viability as potential commercial solutions. By also identifying significant gaps and market needs, the people at GEn1E Lifesciences are harnessing their broadly acclaimed and breakthrough work. GEn1E has a pipeline of programs with strong preclinical data, including a lead program centered around a selective p38α kinase inhibitor.

June Motherhood

June Motherhood is a digital health company designing the next generation of care for women and families. June’s community-based model of care combines expert coaching with a small group support system to empower expecting parents throughout pregnancy and beyond.

June’s vision is to create a future where care is communal, lowering costs and improving outcomes so that all families can live healthier lives. They’ve seen a tremendous response to their small group prenatal and postpartum programs, and are looking forward to making June accessible to more expecting parents and families across the country, even earlier in the prenatal journey and later into early childhood.

Curve Health

Anyone who’s attempted to navigate the Kafkaesque American healthcare system knows just how many bottlenecks there are in between the patient, provider, hospital systems, post-acute facilities and billing departments. This is especially true when addressing our vulnerable -and quickly growing, senior population.

In response, Curve Health has created an information exchange and telemedicine platform that facilitates frictionless patient care between hospital systems and surrounding post-acute facilities. Care becomes better targeted, more seamless and drives improved outcomes.

By breaking down health silos and better connecting patients to care, via solutions for skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, ambulances and more … Curve Health “orchestrates connected senior care to empower the delivery of effective, empathetic care to more seniors, with a more connected experience for family, facilities and providers.”

MemoryWell

Memories deserve to last forever. Sadly, this is often not the case. According to the Alzheimer’s Association 1 in 3 seniors dies with Alzheimer’s or another dementia, and it kills more than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined. Moreover, in 2021 Alzheimer’s and other dementias will cost the nation $355 billion, and more than 11 million Americans provide unpaid care for people with Alzheimer’s or other dementias.

Meet MemoryWell, a digital data platform that promotes person-centered care through life storytelling. Founded by Jay Newton-Small, Jay comes from a 15-year career as a national journalist with bylines at TIME and Bloomberg. When her father moved into an assisted living facility, the staff asked her to fill out a 20-page questionnaire about his life. Instead, she wrote down his story. His caregivers loved it, and MemoryWell was born.

The budding platform allows seniors and their families to build captivating timelines of their lives complete with photos, videos, letters, and more, then matches them with professional writers to complete the story. Not only does this better introduce patients to their caretakers and improve the quality of care delivered, it also helps ease the pain and confusion felt by those struggling with dementia and helps everyone hold onto those precious memories for as long as possible.

Biocogniv

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the health infrastructure pivoted and refocused like never before, exponentially accelerating an already in-process shift toward technologies like telepresence, machine learning and nanotechnology. The mobilization and reapplication of AI was no exception.

Biocogniv makes AI-powered diagnostic tools and software for hospitals. Their initial product line includes plugins for electronic health records systems (EHRs), and their first product screened patients for COVID-19 by analyzing standard blood test results — instantly, and with 95% sensitivity. It is, to date, the largest application of artificial intelligence to COVID, with “data spanning over 60 US-based hospitals and 200,000 patients.”

SiPhox

Speaking of COVID-19, Boston-area startup SiPhox also mobilized to combat the pandemic, creating an industry-breakthrough product, OneLab, an at-home biosensing Swiss Army Knife. It’s most timely application includes a scalable, at-home COVID diagnostic that, with a ramp-up in chip production, a single CMOS chip factory can produce enough chips to test all 7.8 Billion people monthly.

The portable flash-drive sized instrument is a” fully chip-based diagnostic solution combines state-of-the art integrated photonics, electronics and microfluidics.” Imagine the ability to test for almost any acute illness or chronic condition biomarker quickly and with unprecedented levels of specificity and sensitivity. It’s a truly disruptive integration of multiple breakthrough technologies, with highly scalable potential.
